19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to create a third set.

He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
